I'm an IT specialist with a strong experience in various fields ranging from Internet services architectures to development and deployment of applications for the financial industry.
I've been in charge of the Messaging infrastructure for one of the most important organizations in the world of research. The service was providing access to Internet mail and address books to more than 15k users.
Lately I've been heading the Financial Models and Systems unit in one of the most important banks in Italy. The Unit was responsible for the selection, development and customization of quantitative models, and for their implementation and integration in the Front Office systems. Moreover the Unit took care of the administration of the system (based on Murex) and all other activities related to the application of technology to the Finance field.
After a few months spent in another well established italian financial institution - for which I've been leading several projects still in the financial technology domain, actively assisting at the same time the high level management in the definition of the strategies for the evolution of the computing infrastructure - starting from October 2006 I've been heading the IT Dept. for one of the major fund managers in Italy.
This last position requires the management of a team of 35 which let me further develop my managerial skills.
My main professional skills are:
- Programming languages: frequent use in projects of Java, C, PERL, Ruby, Visual C++, VB/VBA, SQL, C#;
- Windows Development: knowledge of MFC, COM/ATL/ActiveX, ASP, ADO, .NET;
- Mathematical tools: Matlab
- Data providers: Reuters (Kobra and Reuters SSL Toolkit); Bloomberg (Launchpad and Bloomberg API)
- Front Office Environments: Sungard Panorama (and Custom House module); Murex MXG2000 (all modules);
- Communication and Protocols: HTTP, CGI, RMI, SMTP, LDAP, IMAP, POP, NNTP;
- Security: knowledge of main security tools and principles both in Unix and Windows;
- Operating systems: deep experience with several flavors of UNIX (Solaris, DUX, AIX);
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows NT/2000 and Mac OS;
- Servers: Apache (with LDAP integration), University of Washington IMAP/POP servers; Public Domain Sendmail; iPlanet Enterprise Server;
- Data Bases: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server

- Software development: knowledge of OMT, UML and software metrics.
I'm italian mother tongue and I fluently speak and write both english and french.
I've received several awards all over my professional career.
I'm 34 years old and I was born in the Dolomites: some of the most beautiful mountains in the world!
